Reactivating St. Thomas's Community Association
One of my proudest achievements was helping to re-open St Thomas's Community Association. Alongside a dedicated team, I co-ran the food bank for several years. This initiative became a vital lifeline for many families in need, providing essential provisions and a sense of community support during challenging times. The impact was profound, offering dignity and practical help to countless residents in the St Thomas's Ward.
Nurturing young minds and community spirit
My work as a Beaver Leader with 7th Dudley Scouts on Watsons Green Road and as a youth club leader at Green Park has been incredibly rewarding. It’s about more than just activities; it's about fostering a sense of belonging, teaching valuable life skills, and instilling confidence in young people. Witnessing their growth and seeing them thrive has been an immense privilege, building a stronger future for our community one young person at a time.
Challenging myself for worthy causes
I've taken part in numerous charity challenges – from climbing Ben Nevis and abseiling to running and skydiving. These efforts, together with others, have helped raise thousands for crucial organisations like Prostate Cancer UK, Georgina Ward, Ronnie's Room at Russells Hall Hospital, Hope House, and many more. Collaborating with groups like Dudley Palestine Solidarity Group, we've collectively raised over £300,000 for MAP, Global Relief Trust, Gaza daily feeds via One Nation, and Gifting Hum, providing essential aid where it's desperately needed.
